It is with regret that I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign as president of the TCHF of Oregon, effective today. It is becoming increasingly difficult to take part in the day-to-day and strategic activities of the position and I feel that it is best for me to make room for someone with the time and energy to devote to the job.
It has been a great source of pleasure over the past 20+ years to collaborate with all of you to increase the awareness of the Tarahumara people here in the Portland area (and around the world) and I am very proud of everything that we have accomplished to assist these people. We were fortunate to begin our journey working with Fr. Verplancken and have since enjoyed working with the other Jesuit priests that have managed the Mission. I want to thank current Managing Director Fr. Miguel, former Director Fr. Pedro and long time advisor Fr. David for their wise counsel and inspiration. Raising both funds and awareness for a cause in a foreign country is a tall order that we can all be very proud of.
I will continue to be a strong supporter of the TCHF, just now in the background. I thank all of you for your friendship and support over the years and hope that you, too, will keep the Tarahumara in your hearts.
With warm regards,
John Brockamp
