RESULTS: 2012 TCHF of Oregon Art Contest - "A Prayer for Vocations"

We are pleased to announce the results from our first Art Contest.  The contest was open to students in grades K-8 at all parish schools in the Archdiocese of Portland (OR) and the Diocese of Baker (OR).  The theme for this first contest was "A Prayer for Vocations".  A panel of judges including Fr. Ted Weber, artist Greg Lewis, John Brockamp (TCHF of Oregon President) and D. Klosterman (TCHF of Oregon Dir. of Operations) made the final assessment of the student entries.

The winning students are featured here on our website as well as in prayer bookmarks and other collateral materials.  The following cash prizes were awarded during a presentation on December 14th:  First Place, $50; Second Place, $30; and Third Place, $20.  Matching cash prizes were also awarded to the winning school of each student.

The winning students and aspiring artists shown with CTK Vocations Director Barbara Bryan are as follows:

·        First Place - Jasmine Scherzinger (age 7), Christ The King Catholic School (Milwaukie, OR)

·        Second Place - Dylan Super (age 7), Christ The King Catholic School (Milwaukie, OR)

Thank you to all students who participated in this contest and we look forward to your participation in our next Art Contest scheduled for the Lent/Easter season of 2013.  This contest will include a teacher's guide and less administrative detail.  Good wishes for a winning art team in 2013!
